Take home folders will go home on Tuesdays. Students use an answer key for Wordly Wise tests. If you would like to review the items your child missed and look at a copy of the test, it can be reviewed in Mrs. Duncan's room.

We will complete several book studies in 5th grade.  Students may purchase this book on their electronic reading devices if they choose.

Writing Grading Scale:
You might have wondered what your child's writing grade means on the interim and report cards. We give writing grades from 0 - 6. Students complete weekly journals and occasional prompts that we grade in this range based on the Tennessee Writing Assessment Rubric. This year students will complete a state writing prompt in February that will be scored based on this rubric as well. See the link below that will lead you to the Tennessee Writing Assessment Rubric. This rubric explains the expectations of each score, 0-6.
